4 local areas along the Fraser slope, mostly built out between the 1940s and the 1960s and still the city's most family-oriented ground: bigger lots, quieter streets, and main streets — Fraser, Victoria, Main south of 41st — that serve the neighbourhoods around them rather than the whole city.
Two things are changing the south slope: the Canada Line turned Marpole into a transit neighbourhood, and the River District in Killarney is building a whole new riverfront community on former industrial land. Check construction timelines before assuming today's quiet street stays that way.
